Curriculum

We offer a range of subjects within the Western Australian Curriculum. All students in Years 7-10 study the Mathematicss, English, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), Health and Physical Education (HPE) syllabuses. Students also have the opportunity to elect subjects of their interests from Technologies and The Arts. For more information on these courses please see the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) website.

Our students are graded against the School Curriculum and Standards Authorities’ Standards.

The school offers a variety of rich pathways for senior secondary school students including training and employment pathways through General, Foundation, and Vocational Education and Training courses including School Based Traineeships (SBT), and university entry through Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) courses. Students have the opportunity to study subjects not delivered on site through School of Isolated and Distant Education (SIDE). For further information, contact the Senior School Deputy Principal. For more information on Senior Secondary courses, see:

Special programs are also on offer such as the Mining Alliance Program (MAP), V-Swans specialised sports programs, Trade Training Centre (TTC), and the Senior School Engagement Program (SSEP).

Students identified through the Gifted and Talented Secondary Selective Entrance Programs are able to participate in G&T Online for academic programs. Please note that applications for testing for entry to the program close very early the year before a student participates in the course. For more information see https://www.education.wa.edu.au/gifted-and-talented.

Across the school, students participate in the AVID Australia program. This program focuses on Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Inquiry and Reading. Parents and students will see the organisation element in the use of Interactive Notebooks (INBs), which are organised to ensure students keep clear records of their work.
